Biography
Denise Trayvick is the daughter of Betty and Johnny Trayvick. She was born in Mobile, Alabama, and raised in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. She is the mother four children: Tiffany, Ashleigh, Kendrell and Nicole. She is also the grandmother of Kerriana Myles and Kenyon Trayvick
Denise began writing as a high school student but did not take it seriously. She utilized it as something to do to pass the time. In June 2000, she began to pursue writing again.
Going through a time of frustration, she decided to get on her computer and type. Within a thirty-minute time frame, she had written a poem called “Look at me.” Over the next couple of years, she worked in the drama ministry at her church where she wrote plays and skits for the youth ministry.
Denise is an accomplished playwright with six productions under her belt. She is currently working on her seventh play. In addition, she continues to work in the drama ministry at her church, writing plays and skits for the youth ministry to perform. She is currently working on her ninth play.
In 2005, Denise endeavored to launch her business called Genres. Uniquely defined, a genre is a category of artistic, musical, or literary compositions characterized by a particular style, form, or content. This definition characterizes the essence of the business and ministry of Genres. As a product of her business, Denise has made several theatrical presentations. These presentations include: “Changes”, “Changes: The Restoration”, “Grace”, “Precious Pearls”, “The Walls Tell My Story”, “Time Heals All Things”, "Healing For The Soul", and most recently, "When It All Goes Wrong".
Denise acknowledges that this is a divine gift from God. She says, “I take no credit for my writing. If my Father didn’t give it to me, it would be impossible to write one line.
“God gives us all gifts and he wants us to use them to glorify Him. No matter the gift, we have to make sure that it brings something positive to the individual who encounters it. A simple hug can change a person’s life.”
